Do you need to use mouthwash every day?

Mouthwash can be a convenient part of a routine, but it should not be treated as a substitute for brushing and cleaning between the teeth. Its role depends on the formula and the purpose of use.

Does everyone need mouthwash?

There is no single answer for everyone. Some rinses are mainly intended to freshen the mouth, while others contain ingredients for specific needs. Read the label instead of judging a product only by the intensity of its flavour.

Mechanical cleaning comes first

Thorough brushing and interdental cleaning remain the foundation. Mouthwash does not mechanically remove plaque in the way a toothbrush or floss does.

When should you ask a dentist?

If you have dry mouth, gum disease, orthodontic appliances or other particular needs, choose a rinse with professional guidance. Persistent bad breath should not simply be masked with mouthwash without looking for its cause.
