Turmeric has an intense yellow pigment that can temporarily settle on plaque, the tongue, braces or rough fillings. For most people, a single meal does not permanently change the colour of healthy enamel.
How can you limit yellow deposits?
- drink water after the meal,
- remove food debris from between the teeth,
- keep tooth surfaces smooth through regular hygiene,
- do not scrub aggressively straight away,
- pay attention to brace elastics, which can become stained.
If colour remains at the edge of a filling or affects one isolated area, have it checked by a dentist. Toothpaste may help with surface deposits but will not change the shade of restorative material.
See Elixio toothpaste for surface-deposit care.
FAQ
Does turmeric stain veneers?
Restorative material can collect deposits differently from enamel. Ask a dentist about colour that persists.
Do you need to avoid it?
No. Sensible hygiene after the meal is enough.
